Are you looking for a rustic and versatile wedding venue on the Mornington Peninsula?
I recently hopped in the car for a drive to Baxter Barn on the Mornington Peninsula to take a look around prior to an upcoming wedding I have booked there.
What a great spot! It’s a really great new-ish venue that seems to have been set up to specifically cater for weddings.
Baxter Barn is located on Sages Cottage’s property, which is a 34-acre of heritage listed tranquility, but is only a fifty minute drive from Melbourne. It’s a historic venue, which overflowing with rustic charm and native bushland. Once it’s more well known, I’m sure it’s going to be considered as one of the most appealing wedding venues on the Mornington Peninsula.
At the Baxter Barn grounds, you may choose from different settings to fit your perfect wedding ceremony. It ranges from their luscious island bursting with trees and native plants to their Heritage listed Cottage with a charm that dates back to 1850s.
The main reason why it is a good choice as a wedding venue is that it gives you options for your ceremony and reception. Their attentive staff will welcome you along with your guests to celebrate your special day with a variety of mouth watering food, a picture perfect backdrop of their barn as well as surrounding grounds, and friendly service.
Baxter Barn also has different perfect locations for picturesque ceremony backdrops and stunning photo opportunities. If you have numerous guests, it is never an issue with Baxter Barn as it has acres of ideal places for unique Marquee sites and bigger groups, fields of greens and manicured gardens, perfectly lending themselves to a large wedding party.
With the charismatic wooden exterior and interior of the building dating back to 1870s, with timber slabs cut from the trees off its own acreage, Baxter Barn is an eye catching and captivating backdrop for any themed wedding. Enjoying canapés out on their courtyard lawn or manicured gardens, Baxter Barn will definitely be one of those wedding venues that impresses your guests.
Have a Wedding Reception Under the Sky at Baxter Barn
Baxter Barn not only gives your the chance of a rustic barn space, but acres of green to setup a marquee, an outdoor seating arrangement or some croquet. Personally I like a game of petanque in between the ceremony and reception. Petanque and a few summer cocktails are just the ticket before an evening of great food and dancing!
In terms of the food menu, Baxter Barn offers everything from the Grazing menu, Feasting menu, Buffet or Plated menu, and chef cooked barbecue banquets.
Everything they do is prepared and handmade on site as they strive for delicious and premium gourmet standard. Their menus are also designed and made by their staff, which made them as one of the best among various wedding venues. The combination of the authentic landscape as well as foundations contrasted with modernistic food scene that Baxter Barn provides.
If you want your wedding to be set with a rustic scene, this is a place well suited for you. With a team of dedicated professionals and great location, Baxter Barn is a place you should not miss when looking for a wedding venue or a place for wedding photography. When it comes to cost, you are likely to be surprised on how budget friendly it is, which will help keep your wedding photography budget manageable!
I’ll post photos on the blog once I have photographed the upcoming wedding at Baxter Barn as I’m sure it will become one of those venues that starts to pop up on everyone’s wedding radar. No doubt, they will also be making an appearance in the Mornington Peninsula’s Toast magazine. Click here for more suggestions of wedding venues on the Mornington Peninsula.
