I was delighted to read this review that appeared on TrueLocal overnight. It was left by a couple who like to keep their personal lives private, so I won’t use their names, but they know who they are and how much I appreciate the trouble they went to in leaving a review.
Having Simon do our wedding photos was a pleasure. Easy going, good sense of humour and professional.
We aren’t big on pomp, formality or creating post-production fantasies and Simon really understood that.
He did a great job of capturing real people just enjoying themselves, which is what we want to remember.
A great record of the day and highly recommended. Thanks Simon!
I have to say, the morning of their wedding was quite unusual but very special. Usually I would be photographing some preparation photos at the bride’s house or the groomsmen enjoying a few drinks but this one started with a leisurely bushwalk for any of the guests who fancied joining them in a beautiful state park a few hours east of Melbourne. I was there to take a few snaps and I got to enjoy the huge trees in the forest.
It was such a fun and unique way to kick off a wedding and really set the tone for the rest of the day.
The relaxed but intimate ceremony in the late afternoon was held just within the boundary of the state park with guests seated on camping chairs or whatever they had brought along for comfort. I was sporting my shorts and muddy walking boots so felt like I was on a day out! I wish I could dress like that for every wedding I shoot!
By the time we reached the reception at a restaurant overlooking miles and miles of fabulous views everyone was well and truly relaxed and ready for a good feed. Fresh air really does give you a great appetite!
