Meadowbank Receptions

If you’re searching for a wedding venue on the north side of Melbourne you’ve probably already discovered, isn’t exactly brimming over with quality wedding venues.  Sure, you have the huge barn sized venues in Epping, and several reception centres in Essendon, but in between all that, the choice is incredibly limited.

This is where Meadowbank Receptions is a refreshing change.

Located in Cambellfield, an area not otherwise known for weddings, Meadowbank Receptions is an exquisite 3-acre formal garden with heritage listed trees along with manicured lawns that provide an ideal setting for large and intimate weddings alike.

It features a newly constructed ballroom situated amongst the historic trees and formal gardens that overlook the grand fully tiled swimming pool, giving an ideal backdrop on warm summer nights. This ballroom area can accommodate up to 130 guests or up to 250 guests for the cocktail events.

History of Meadowbank Receptions

It was constructed in year 1850 with a Gregorian architectural style.

Manor House is what occupies the part of the estate, which is known as Meadowbank. It’s a 1-storey U shaped attic property built with coursed rubble basalt and comes with period style bay dormer windows and a gabled slate roof. The building was built in 1950 and features the style of the properties usually found in Scottish lowlands. It is a stunning building and is one the perfect location for wedding photography opportunities on the property and is also ideal for winter weddings when the weather can be wet or unpredictable. The extensive gardens also offer plenty of locations for wedding photos, and although you’re still on the city fringes, it feels like you’re at a country retreat, a world away.
