I recently had the pleasure of photographing Amy & Vikram’s wedding at the Treacy Centre, Parkville, Melbourne.
Aside the usual wedding highlights, was the fact that they had managed to convince veteran soul DJ and PBS FM host Vince Peach to spin some of his favourite 7″s on the night.
I love vinyl! It’s so much more atmospheric and tactile than your average MP3! OK, so I might be a bit nostalgic having offloaded most of my vinyl prior to leaving London for Melbourne, but there is a certain amount of ceremony that goes with playing a record that you simply don’t experience with selecting a digital file. Anyone remember the heavyweight 12″ vinyl? Maybe it’s time I re-invested in a turntable…
