Awww, you guys!

It’s been a good week for wedding photography reviews with Marina & James leaving me one earlier in the week on Google and now another very generous one from Nicole & Dean.

Simon in a word is Exceptional! If we could give him 10 stars we would. We booked Simon at the very last minute and Simon was so helpful and made us feel very relaxed throughout. The result was simply outstanding and thumbs up from all the family.

Yikes! Great review alert!

If you’re looking for a recommended wedding photographer in Melbourne, I’m pretty sure this is an endorsement from Jess & Ryan posted on Truelocal….

We received so many comments from friends, family and other newlyweds about wedding photo’s. Comments not just relating to my husband and I, it was more about Simon’s work. The happiness, joy, emotion, intensity and fun he captured through his photos on our special day is something we will cherish forever and not what you generally see flicking through peoples wedding albums.

Simon captures moments you didn’t even know were happening around you! They are the sort of photos you cant stop looking at! I saw our wedding through other peoples eyes because of Simon’s work…It was an unreal feeling!

Not your average photographer. So casual and calm you don’t even know he is there, he has a sense of humour that can relax anyone in stressful moments, he has an eye for detail and the talent to get that one of a kind photograph.

Clearly.. we highly recommend Simon.

Beryl’s Mum reckons I’m ‘tops’

It’s all very well the bride and groom endorsing my services, but check out what Beryl’s Mum has to say over on my Google+ page!

Thank you so much Simon for capturing special moments during our amazing wedding day.
Pete and I couldn’t believe the photos you managed to capture of our guests enjoying themselves. You are truly one of a kind.
You were so generous and patient with everyone. My mum says you are ‘tops’.
To anyone wishing to book a wedding photographer, do yourself a favour and call Simon. You will NOT be disappointed.

What more do you need to know?! Pick up the phone and dial 0450 586 561 before somebody else’s Mum jumps in and books me.

Kind words

I was delighted to read this review that appeared on TrueLocal overnight.  It was left by a couple who like to keep their personal lives private, so I won’t use their names, but they know who they are and how much I appreciate the trouble they went to in leaving a review.

Having Simon do our wedding photos was a pleasure. Easy going, good sense of humour and professional.

We aren’t big on pomp, formality or creating post-production fantasies and Simon really understood that.

He did a great job of capturing real people just enjoying themselves, which is what we want to remember.

A great record of the day and highly recommended. Thanks Simon!

I have to say, the morning of their wedding was quite unusual but very special.  Usually I would be photographing some preparation photos at the bride’s house or the groomsmen enjoying a few drinks but this one started with a leisurely bushwalk for any of the guests who fancied joining them in a beautiful state park a few hours east of Melbourne. I was there to take a few snaps and I got to enjoy the huge trees in the forest.

It was such a fun and unique way to kick off a wedding and really set the tone for the rest of the day.

The relaxed but intimate ceremony in the late afternoon was held just within the boundary of the state park with guests seated on camping chairs or whatever they had brought along for comfort.  I was sporting my shorts and muddy walking boots so felt like I was on a day out! I wish I could dress like that for every wedding I shoot!

By the time we reached the reception at a restaurant overlooking miles and miles of fabulous views everyone was well and truly relaxed and ready for a good feed. Fresh air really does give you a great appetite!

Have you seen my latest advert?

Those of you who have met me know that I’m not likely to buy overpriced glossy advertisements in fancy bridal magazines to promote myself as it’s all too ‘weddingy’ and my ad would be up against one of the big faceless photography studios who are doing the ‘sausage factory’ wedding photography experience, which really isn’t my cup of organic decaf herbal tea.

So, here is my little advert for my wedding photography services, kindly written by Lauren & Michael, who were recently married in Torquay.

Choosing a wedding photographer was a difficult task for us as we decided to have our wedding interstate and had no local recommendations to go by, however we were lucky enough to stumble onto Simon’s details and couldn’t have been happier with the results from our special day.

Both of us are not particularly photogenic and we didn’t want the whole wedding day to be about getting the perfect shot, yet naturally we wanted amazing photos to remind us of a fabulous day. Meeting and talking with Simon in the lead up to the wedding we knew straight away he would be a great choice for us as he was friendly and easy going, but also really professional.

As for the day, we are both happy to say taking the wedding photos was really fun and enjoyable! Simon let us relax and enjoy the moment, whilst doing what he does best – take amazing photos 🙂

Thank you so much Simon – your turnaround on getting the photos to us was great and we can’t say enough about how happy we are.

New review

This review popped up on Google today from Rob & Simone. It’s lovely to hear couples enjoying their photos so much!

You know that feeling you get when you find an old photo? …. and it just brings back the moment? The feelings, the place, the smells, the sounds, even the people you were with? When our wedding photos arrived from Simon we were just taken back to our special day – from leaving the house (and the realisation my father had left his flies down!!) to the lovely old church, to my husbands (I love that word – husband) parents’ beautiful garden and finally to the reception in our garden. We could remember every moment, every detail, through Simon’s fantastic story in pictures and we laughed and we cried all over again ….
All our friends and family thought Simon was a relative of mine from the UK because he just was a part of our day and as a result everyone just relaxed and enjoyed it.
We have wonderful memories of our happiest day together so far and we know in the future when we find an old photo it will take us back to that day and that moment and no doubt we will laugh or cry all over again…
Thank you Simon x

Left of centre

By their own admission, Carly and Sam were never going to be the traditional bride and groom. And I’m unlikely to ever be the traditional wedding photographer. So we clicked.
It’s not often you get to hear about kebabs and colour blindness in a couple’s vows!
Photos (including their rainbow wedding cake!) from their day coming soon, but in the meantime this is what they had to say:

Not being overly photo-y people, and with a dash of weirdness to boot, we needed someone that understood what we wanted out of our wedding photos, without telling us what we should have for a wedding.
That’s where Simon comes in. After a long and frustrating search, we happened on his website and knew straight away that he was what we were after.
Not afraid to play a little bit left of centre, Simon was easy going, energetic, and good humoured about the sort of things we wanted. He really blended into the crowd at the reception, which resulted in some great candid shots, and our portraits were stunning.
Great value, and coolest USB ever. Thanks again for everything.

New review for Melbourne Wedding Photography service

Thanks to Elli & Matt for a lovely review on TrueLocal this morning:

We wanted professional quality photos with as many relaxed, unposed candid moments as possible for our wedding. After seeing Simon’s work and immediately after meeting him we both agreed to book him without meeting any other photographers. Simon was an absolute pleasure to deal with on the day, he kept us relaxed, handled alot of kids and inclement weather with aplomb and our photos turned out beautifully. We would both absolutely recommend him to anyone wanting to cherish the memories of their big day.

Review for Wedding Snapper Photography

Thanks to Jenna & Michael for their lovely review of my wedding photography services on TrueLocal this week…

Well and truly beyond all expectations.
Having decided to get married less than six months after becoming engaged I was amazed to find Simon and thought his offering was too good to be true.
Simon came to us to chat through our expectations and was very open, honest and interested in hearing about our plans for our day.
This friendly, candid and relaxed personality completely matched his easy going, professional style on the day.
Not only did Simon take amazing photos of us and our bridal party but also of the venue, our guests and their children. So many people have commented on how “lovely” he was and of his ability to capture the true spirit and fun of our wedding day.

By the end of the day Simon was on a first name basis with so many guests it was like he was part of our family! Simon made an effort to fit in so well (and naturally did) that he even came along to our after wedding BBQ as a guest!

I really could not recommend Simon highly enough. We could not fault his communication pre-wedding, his efforts and breadth of photos from the day or his fast turn around post wedding.

Wedding photos are always that one thing that you desperately hope will turn out well. The one piece of the wedding that you cherish and hope to one day show children, grand children and so on.
We will forever be grateful to Simon for giving us and our guests some amazing images that will help bring our memories to life for a long, long time.

Thanks Jenna & Michael – it was an absolute pleasure.  Photos coming to the blog soon!
