Having photographed plenty of weddings at Wild Cattle Creek Estate but never really having time to relax and enjoy the food it was with great pleasure that I recently popped over to the Yarra Valley for a relaxed midweek lunch.
Joined by Kevin & Heather (the husband and wife team that make the restaurant, accommodation and winery the well respected establishment that it is) we discussed the current trends of the wedding industry before feasting on several of their signature dishes, as well as a couple of seasonal extras that were available at the time. The carnivorous diners in the group were ecstatic over the pork belly so I’d take that as a recommendation.
I’m not a food reviewer so I won’t give you all the flowery overblown descriptions, suffice to say that it was all bloody delicious! If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try the chocolate fondant dessert if you don’t stuff yourself silly on the mains.
The new deck is particularly great at this time of year to enjoy the view over the vines whilst enjoying one of the local tipples – I could easily while away an afternoon! Unfortunately that’s not very productive…
Not only am I keen to return for lunch or dinner very soon, but I’m also looking forward to photographing a wedding there again soon. If you’re looking for a Yarra Valley photographer to shoot your Wild Cattle Creek wedding then please get in touch as we do offer special offers on wedding photography packages for weddings at venues that we enjoy working at.
