When looking for a wedding photography location for Emily & Damian somewhere between the church in Camberwell where they were to be married and Fenix the reception venue, I seemed to keep coming up with pretty average and underwhelming options.
Although Richmond has the Yarra River winding through it there aren’t bucket loads of immediately obvious photography locations that jump to mind. Emily & Damian suggested the heritage listed Burnely Gardens which are part of the University of Melbourne campus and somewhere I had never come across, let alone heard of!
So, for our 45 minute session in fading winter light we scampered around the gardens in record time and knocked off the key locations before scooting off to Fenix.
With better light and a bit more time to play with it would make a great location for wedding photography close to venues such as Fenix or Leonda and one which I’d love to explore further!
Congratulations to Emily & Damian. Thanks for being so easy to work and thanks for helping me to find a new location for wedding photos in Richmond!
