Get your mind out of the gutter! I’m referring to a short 2 hour booking with Michelle & Andrew who made a last minute decision to book a photographer for their wedding.
Whilst they had initially thought that friends would be able to take some photos (and they surely did!) they soon realised that there is a definite value in using a photographer who’s sole task is to document the event rather than using a guest who is charged with taking a few snaps in-between trying to enjoy the ceremony and make the most of the bar.
Sure, I’m a little biased as to the value of my profession, but here is what the happy couple had to say following the delivery of their photos:
I didn’t want a photographer at our wedding, I thought my friends could take great snaps, and I also didn’t want someone in the way all the time. Thankfully I changed my mind at the last minute and had Simon take photos for 2 hours at our wedding. I can’t stop looking at the amazing photos that make me relive all the moments from our wedding. Simon was the easiest person to get along with. I can’t recommend Simon highly enough:)
Skimp on some things if your budget is looking a little out of control, but don’t let it be the photography that gets the chop! Trust me on this – you can thank me for my sage advice later!
The wedding commenced with a late morning ceremony on the lawns of Werribee Mansion overlooking the lake and was swiftly followed by a very relaxed reception in the modern Pavillion overlooking the polo field. Guests enjoyed drinks on the lawns whilst we scooted around the sprawling gardens for a few photos. Their son Hunter also came along for the ride and a few snaps – what a dude!
